Aivaras Mockus is a Lithuanian born American writer, poet, and a freelance translator.
Based in Boston, Mass., he writes and translates for Lithuanian-, English-, and Russian-language publications.
After graduating from the Vilnius State University, Faculty of Philology where he majored in English Language and Literature, Aivaras worked as Head of the Literature Department in the Kaunas State Drama Theatre.
Since then, he has lived in St. Petersburg, New York, Vienna, Marbella, and Lagos, while working as an editor, translator, freelance writer, and a journalist. He has collaborated with local English-language radio station, written screenplays, articles, and poetry.
Fluent in Lithuanian, English, and Russian languages, Aivaras also has a good command of German and Polish, with some knowledge of French, Spanish, and Estonian.
